Secimimizi gecmis yillarda bunyesinde bolumumuzden daha cok ogrenciye staj imkani saglayan Turkiye’nin onde gelen firmalarindan kullandik. SIEMENS Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.

I think there’s not much to say about the quality of Siemens. Kartal foundation, having the name of the leading brand in technology, “SIEMENS”, was a good place for my training. In Kartal foundation, the company acquires various useful services like meals, service busses, insurancy, ... etc. for its workers. In the departments work atmosphere is warm, team work is very important, officers help each others. Maybe I’d bette work in a department related to “Electronics” than “Electric” or  “Power Generation”, but at least I learnt important facts about worklife, by working near very nice people. Also, I worked near experienced engineers and so the things, which are practical, I learnt here made up a whole with the theoretical information I got in school. My training was valuable for me.

 

ECZACIBASI Yapi Gerecleri A.S. VITRA

(Yunus Kartal Istanbul)

It is a good place to do training because one learns more practicle things and the applications of what he learnt. However, as all the factories are affected from the economic crisis, the investments are minimum. Therefore, the factory does not buy any new machine. Moreover, since the production is decreased the machines need less maintenance. As a result most of the time, we have to repair the broken device in order to use it in our job. I learn something on PLC programming and the motors.

 

FORD-OTOSAN Otomotiv Sanayi A.S.

My internship at Ford-Otosan for 30 workdays have been very sufficient for me. Ford is an important automobile producer for Turkey. It is a new factory and only produces Model Ford Transit now. During my internship there, I got information about PLCs, which are used, in automation process, PLC programming languages, technical features of electric motors, sensors, measuring devices, etc. And, I have practiced on them, that was very sufficient for me. I learned and experienced the working conditions, relations between employees. Ford-Otosan is a new, modern factory and by having an internship of 30 workdays there, I learned what are the responsibilities, duties of an electric and electronics engineer in an automobile factory.

 

TRT Istanbul Radio

(Harbiye Istanbul) 

TRT with professional broadcasting principles has the latest technology as the main company in the area of television and radio broadcasting in Turkey. My training department was measurement and maintenance laboratory, which provides maintenance and repair of broadcasting equipment which are really expensive and vital for the continuity of the business. I learned about working principles of some main radio broadcasting equipments, electrical repairs and sound system. The staff of my department was so friendly and they were always interested in explaining about what I wondered. So it was really a good experience for me.

 

BRISA Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.

In this training period, I got acquainted with factory area. I saw how the system runs in a really big factory. One should carefully analyze the process if it is wanted to develop. I was taught the program of BS Logrx 5 which is a kind of software suitable for automation. I designed hard wares which are controlled by PLC 5/20. All engineers of Brisa were interested in very much that I didn’t expect that much. I am completely thankful against them.

 

ULKER Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.

Ulker is the leading company of Turkish chocolate and waffle industry. It exports huge amount of its production to foreign markets. It holds 65% of the total revenue of chocolate and waffle market. It has ISO 9001 and HACCP certificates for health standards. It was founded in 1944 at Tahtakale just with one product, Petit Bor biscuit. Now it has many kinds of products. It was a new experience for me to study at Ulker. I learned much about control which I have no idea earlier. I met with a foreign service engineer from Switzerland who is an expert in his job. He told me much about control engineering all over the world. I think I will choose my option according to this new experience.

 

TURKCELL

Turkcell was my first training place during my undergraduate education. It was the first time for me to see a working atmosphere. Everything has been arranged to make working efficiency maximum. What I faced with there was also sincere friendship. I took the advantage of having trainee on a leader GSM operator firm. I had my vision expanded and had chance to improve my knowledge. During my trainee I gained positive influences.

 

VESTEL Elektronik

Vestel is the third biggest television company in Europe. They choose their employees carefully and want them to give thierselves entirely to their jobs. Vestel is racing with the biggest companies of the world, and employees are aware of this responsibility. Cooperation is at the highest level. Old employees are always in contact with the new ones and olds lead the new ones. Working conditions are well enough to feel yourself confident. Additionally, if you are working at Vestel, you will have chance to visit different foreign countries. Since, in rder to be in contact with the latest developments, vestel is working with many companies like Phillips and ST, in Europe and in USA. It was a great happiness for me, to be a part of this chain even if for 30 days.

 

KORDSA Dupont Ind. Yarn and Tire Cord Fabric Man and Trading Inc.

KORDSA Sabanci Dupont Industrial Yarn and Tire Cord Fabric Manufacturing and Trading Inc. is located in KENTSA in Ali Kahya nearly 10 km away from Izmit. Total area of Yarn Plant and Fabric Plant is 834.391 m2 , total open area is 690.971 m2 and total closed area is 143.420 m2. Human Resources, Project, Yarn Plant, Fabric Plant, Quality Systems, Logistics, Financial & Information Systems are all located in Kentsa. KORDSA was established on the 17th August in Kosekoy/Izmit on a swamp area, as a publicly held company with 100 million TL paid in capital. The technology was licensed from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and UniRoyal Inc., both leaders in their industry. At the time the plant was the biggest in the Balkans and third largest in Europe. The plant has three seperation units which are Kordsa1(K1), Kordsa2(K2), Kordsa3(K3). In K1 and K3, tire cord fabric is produced ; in K2, industrial cord fabric is produced. Tire cord fabric is manufactured in three stages : The first step is the play and cable torsion operation to optimize strength and fatique resistance properties. The second stage is weaving. The torsion and weaving operations are conducted in a totally climatized environment. The last stage is dipping. In this stage, chemical treating and hot stretching are applied.

I worked in the Maintenance and Utility Department of KORDSA. My department manager is Kaya OZUEKREN. The electrical engineer that I was working with is Zayim SAYGILI. He was graduated from Middle East Technical University.  He entered the department  in 1989. There are some electrical technicians in the department and several formen that are the head of these electrical technicians. One of them is Mr. Fehmi ULUGANER. I went to the failures in the factory with him. Finally; KORDSA was a good company to make summer training. And the organization chart of the company is on the next page.

 

TELSIM

This training was very useful for me. I learned much about GSM Networks, but the part I learned is special for TELSIM. Because the physical parts change from manufacturer(Motorola for Telsim) to manufacturer, but the general procedureis same. Nowadays, I decided to make my carrier on telecommunication. Everybody in OMC-R was helpful and friendly against me, although they have so much work to be done. There are experts who know the network deeper than the others. Except these experts other employees are changing. I think this is company’s policy to hire cheap employee but this causes decrease in efficiency.
